Matthew Gray
Visiting PhD Student
Matt is visiting Dalhousie University for the summer as a recipient of the Scotia-Canadian Ocean Research Exchanges (SCORE) Scheme, a partnership between OFI (Ocean Frontier Institute) and MASTS (Marine Alliance for Science and Technology for Scotland). Joining us all the way from Glasgow, Scotland, Matt will, in collaboration with the FOME lab, assess how biodiversity is predicted to change due to climate change and evaluate potential future protection measures. They have a background in interdisciplinary marine science, oceanographic work at Marine Scotland, and stakeholder management in marine renewable energy. Their PhD of Mathematics and Statistics at Strathclyde currently focuses on the underlying mechanics of global phytoplankton diversity.
