Geraldine Fernandez

Research Assistant/Previous Honours Student

Geraldine is a recent Dalhousie graduate; She earned her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology (honours) with a minor in Statistics. Her honours research explored the potential of using ampullae of Lorenzini and fin contours for individual identification of blue sharks through photo-identification techniques in hopes to contribute to the development of ethical and non-invasive approaches to shark research.
This summer, Geraldine will be working with the FOME lab in collaboration with Atlantic Shark Expeditions to collect additional data to further develop a novel shark monitoring method using BRUVS with laser scaling under the supervision of Dr. Tittensor and Dr. Dureuil.
